Our south west Texas ranch is located south of Fort Stockton, Texas on the edge of the Glass Mountains and is 223,000 acres. The success rate on these hunts has run 100% opportunity on harvesting a Aoudad Sheep. The Aoudad Sheep was brought into Texas and released in the 1960's from North Africa. Hunting Aoudad Sheep is similar to hunting any of the other sheep in the sheep family to include Desert Big Horn, Rocky Mountain, and Dall Sheep minus the high price of a tag. Aoudad Sheep can be hunted any time of the year and is a very exciting hunt for some looking for a challenging spot and stalk hunt. The Aoudad Sheep is known for it's exceptional vision and unbelievable climbing ability. Typical hunts consist of spot and stalk using special made dune buggies to climb Mesa's to get the hunter up high to glass for Aoudad. A mature Aoudad will weigh 250 pounds live weight and make incredible mounts. In preparation for your Aoudad Sheep hunt you should bring bino's, spotting scope, shooting sticks and be prepared to shoot from 100 - 300 yards.
